The city attorney and designees shall prosecute all violations of city ordinances, and under state law, may prosecute infractions and misdemeanors occurring within the boundaries of the city. The city attorney and designees shall have the authority to grant transactional immunity for violations of city ordinances, and under state law, infractions and misdemeanors occurring within the boundaries of the city. The city attorney and designees shall represent the interests of the city or state in the appeal of any matter prosecuted in any trial court by the city attorney. (1962 Code § 1-12-2; amd. 2003 Code)
