5-3-2: SOUND AMPLIFIERS AND SPEAKERS:
This section is included in your selections.
A. Prohibited Conduct: It is unlawful for any person on or adjacent to a city street or road to operate a sound amplifier or speaker which emits noise which can be heard more than two hundred feet (200') from the sound amplifier or speaker.
B. Exemptions: This section does not apply to:
1. The operation of sound amplifiers or speakers used by law enforcement or emergency personnel in the performance of their official duties; and
2. The operation of horns or other warning devices required or permitted by Utah Code Annotated section 41-6-146. (Ord. 3-1-98, 3-5-1998)
C. Penalty: A violation of this section is an infraction and upon conviction, subject to penalty as provided in section 1-4-1 of this code. (Ord. 3-1-98, 3-5-1998; amd. 2003 Code)
