The duration of any permit issued under this chapter shall be set at the time of issuance of the permit. Each permit issued shall be valid only in connection with the project for which the permit is issued. If no duration is specified at the time of issuance of the permit, the duration of the permit shall be ninety (90) days. Permits may be extended at the discretion of the public works encroachment officer for good cause up to an additional thirty (30) days from the original expiration date. Any application for an extension of the encroachment permit must be made to the public works encroachment officer prior to the expiration of the original permit and shall set forth the reason for the requested extension.
