Any company who now operates a private electric distribution system coming within the terms of this article who does not wish to obtain a franchise as provided may turn over and deliver such system to the city, provided the system meets city standards. A company wishing to turn over a system may request an inspection by the city in order to approve the system as meeting city standards or to point out deficiencies which must be corrected in order to meet those standards. Upon inspection and approval of the system by the city, the city shall be required to accept ownership of the private electric distribution system by appropriate bill of sale. (Ord. 8-21-1986)
