A. Notice Of Violation: Upon a determination that a violation of the provisions of this chapter exists, the city forester, or their designee, shall ascertain the name of the owner of property abutting the planting strip where the violation has occurred or exists, and they shall serve notice in writing upon the owner or occupant of such property, either personally or by mailing notice, registered mail, postage prepaid, addressed to the owner or occupant at the last known post office address as disclosed by the records of the county assessor, requiring such owner or occupant, as the case may be, to correct or remedy the violation within such time as the city forester, or designee, may designate, but in any event no less than ten (10) days from the date of service of such notice.

B. Licensed Companies – Revocation: In the event of removal or abuse of a street, park or heritage tree is effected by a licensed tree care company, knowingly and without written permission as required by the arboricultural regulations of the city the city business license officer shall consider revocation of the company’s business license pursuant to section 3-1-19 if the violation is admitted or proven in a court of law.
